Job Description

We're looking for an AI Automation Engineer for a contract role designing and building AI-powered workflows and agents that automate manual, repetitive and data-heavy business processes. You'll combine software engineering, integration and LLM skills to find automation opportunities, deliver them into production and measure the time and cost savings.

Location: London, UK

Day rate: £750–£850 per day (IR35 status to be confirmed)

Contract: Initial 6–12 months, likely extension

What you'll do:

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify and prioritise automation opportunities with clear ROI
  • Build end-to-end automated workflows using LLM APIs, orchestration tools and custom code
  • Develop AI agents and multi-step workflows, including tool use, RAG, document extraction and classification
  • Integrate automations with business systems such as CRM, ATS, HRIS, ERP, Slack/Teams and Microsoft 365
  • Build workflows on platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier or Power Automate, alongside Python or TypeScript
  • Implement guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, evaluation and monitoring
  • Handle sensitive data safely in line with UK GDPR

What you'll bring:

  • 3–5 years' experience in software engineering, automation, integration or data/AI engineering
  • Proven experience deploying LLM-based solutions in a live business setting
  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills, with REST API and webhook integration experience
  • Hands-on experience with at least one workflow automation platform
  • Working knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases and agent patterns
  • Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable: LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI Agents SDK or MCP; RPA tools such as UiPath; cloud and CI/CD experience; CRM/ATS/HR integrations such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Bullhorn or Workday.
