The company is a well known, recognised leading brand in their market and this is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join a market leading business. Role: The Unix Domain Operations team provide high quality, comprehensive infrastructure and application support services to business technology partners on a globally consistent basis. These services cover the automated monitoring and resolution of standard infrastructure/application events, along with an in-depth proactive assessment program that ensures the ongoing stability of core applications. As a SME within the team you will report to the Unix Operations Manager, and have responsibility for the resolution of service issues and the delivery of assigned project activities. Specifically the team has a requirement for a Unix Systems Administrator to assist with server patching and system currency to mitigate operational risk. Skills: • Experience of working within a regulated/corporate environment, supporting 2000+ server across multiple locations. • Strong Unix core technical skills in Solaris, Red Hat Linux and AIX, including core performance monitoring and troubleshooting. • Networking Principles (TCP/IP Networking including DHCP and NIS) • Shell Scripting knowledge Bourne & Perl • Exposure to EMC/SAN Storage, Legato and Netbackup • Infrastructure support and trouble shooting of Sun/HP/IBM/Dell hardware • Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System & Veritas Clustering • Red Hat Clustering • Server patching • AIX infrastructure • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Location: Camberley Duration: 6 Months Candidates must show evidence of the above in their CV.
