Role Overview
As a Category Officer for Children Services, you will support the Procurement and Contract Management team in ensuring products and services purchased represent value for money. The role involves collaborating with Category Managers and fellow Category Officers to deliver agreed procurement and contract management activities. You'll be responsible for resource management, ensuring performance objectives are met, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Category Managers to deliver agreed procurement and contract management activities within the Children Services category.
Manage contract relationships with key suppliers, ensuring quality and consistency.
Flex and prioritise resources to meet changing demands and achieve performance targets.
Implement care plans and contribute to the delivery of the national strategy for children's services.
About You
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment.
Experience in procurement and contract management in the public sector, with proven impact throughout the procurement cycle.
Experience managing contracts within the social care market, particularly in children and education.
