Job Description / Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS for enterprise applications.

• Implement automation and DevOps practices for cloud operations.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance and cost.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure security, compliance, and governance standards.

• Provide technical guidance for cloud adoption strategies and best practices.

Background and experience required:

• Proven experience in cloud engineering, specifically AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation).

• Prior exposure to banking or financial services environments; previous Absa experience advantageous.

• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.

Must-have Skills (Mandatory Skills):

• AWS Cloud Services (5+ years)

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation (3+ years)

• Linux/Windows server administration (3+ years)

Scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell – 2+ years)

• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline – 2+ years)

Beneficial Skills (Desired Skills):

• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS and Docker containers

• Cloud cost optimization strategies

• Security & compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, PCI DSS)

• Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)
