**Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Technical Accountant!**

Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Senior Technical Accountant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing accurate statutory reporting, financial management information, and monitoring key financial assets. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects and contribute to the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Deliver specific statutory information for the annual statement of accounts and regulatory returns, ensuring compliance with deadlines and external audit requirements.

- Conduct analytical reviews to interpret data accurately and provide insights for informed decision-making.

- Support the interpretation and implementation of changes in statutory reporting requirements.

- Manage the Council's assets effectively to ensure financial resilience of the balance sheet.

- Assist in the production and changes to financial policies, overseeing their proper application.

- Provide training and support to finance and non-finance staff on technical accounting changes and statutory requirements.

- Undertake projects to improve reporting efficiency and transparency for decision-making processes.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

- Recognized professional/technical accountancy qualification or equivalent (e.g., CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

- Ability to work methodically and accurately with strong attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to local government.

- Experience in financial monitoring roles, with a focus on capital accounting.

- Experience in project management and senior management/elected member engagement is desirable.

- Ability to travel across the Borough and work from various locations.

- Hybrid working approach, with flexibility to accommodate service needs.

- Occasional requirement for weekend and evening work, with a flexible approach to business requirements.

- Health & Safety considerations: Work with Video Display Units (>5hrs per week).
